Midlands Co-operative Society comes out on top

Midlands Co-operative receives three convenience retail awards31 May 2011

Midlands Co-operative Society is celebrating after picking up three awards including the Best Overall Convenience Retailer at last week's Harris International Marketing (Him!) Convenience Tracking Programme (CTP) Awards ceremony in London.

The Him! CTP Awards recognise retailers that have excelled across all areas of the retail business. Midlands Co-operative Society walked away with three top awards in the following categories:

  • Best Chilled Snacks Convenience Retailer, which was sponsored by Kepak Convenience Foods and presented by Angela Daulby, Convenience Business Unit Controller
  • Best Co-operative Retailer voted for by shoppers, sponsored by JTI and presented by Paul Brennan, Co-op/CRTG National Account Manager
  • Best Overall Convenience Retailer voted for by shoppers, sponsored by Torex and presented by Jon Dunman, Worldwide Vice President of Torex Petroleum and Convenience

Michael Spencer, Head of Retail Trading, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Midlands Co-operative Society. These awards are voted for by our shoppers which as a community retailer make receiving this level of recognition even more rewarding. Him! is a retail research consultancy which speaks to over 100,000 customers face to face each year to better understand what customers want. The Him! CTP awards are judged by over 27,000 convenience shoppers and colleagues.
