These essential items will be donated to the Kettering Temporary Homeless Service part of Home Group, which works with people who are homeless, vulnerable and going through life challenges. The ‘Move on Starter Pack’ has been devised by Home Group to help these individuals when they start their independent living, and donations have been asked for items including kettles and toasters.

Central England Co-op has several Membership and Community Councils who choose projects, charities and good causes to provide grants as a part of its community work.

Karen Bevan, Member and Community Relations Officer for Central England Co-operative said: “Our Membership and Community Council grants are for occasions such as this, where there is a need in the community and we can do something to help.  The work that Kettering Temporary Homeless Service does is vital to so many people on the road from homelessness, and these Move on Starter packs are a great idea to help them start a new chapter in their lives.”

As a part of being an ethical community retailer, Central England Co-op has several grant options available including the Membership and Community Council grants, and the Community Dividend Fund. Information on these can be found on https://www.centralengland.coop/community.
