Colleagues at Central England Co-operative Funeral Care have raised over £11,000 by hosting dozens of World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A total of 86 Central England Co-operative Funeral Homes and Florists took part in the annual fundraising event for the cancer charity – raising the five-figure sum in the process by selling tea, coffee and cakes.

Kevin Crute, Head of Funeral at Central England Co-operative, said:

“Central England Co-operative Funeralcare colleagues raised over £11,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting coffee morning across our trading estate.

“By holding events such as these we not only raise money for charity, but also give people the opportunity to see that Funeral Homes are welcoming and friendly places.

"Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Manager for Staffordshire Pauline Lewis said: “Last year people getting together over coffee and cake raised a record £27.5 million. Thank you for helping us to try and raise even more this year for people affected by cancer!”

Across the entire country millions of pounds have been raised as part of the annual flagship fundraiser.
