We have linked up with four great causes to donate 200 warm clothing packs to help  homeless people survive the winter weather.

The retailer has linked up with Burton YMCA, Accomodation Concern, the Hope Centre and Outreach on the Streets to help those in need during the festive season by providing 50 packs each made up of hats and scarves.

The accessories have been bought from Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children, which will also be supported through the donation.

The Society has also been campaigning to encourage its customers and members to donate to local food banks in the run up to Christmas and to actively support those in the most need at this time of year.

Hannah Gallimore, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Central England Co-op, said: “These items will go some way to helping homeless people survive the winter months."
