Central England Co-operative can today reveal the launch date and a first look behind the scenes of its brand new Food Store in Lowestoft.
The Society will officially open its new store in Pinewood Avenue at 9am on Friday, 8 November, with a special ribbon cutting ceremony involving local schoolchildren marking the occasion.
The opening of the Pinewood Avenue store will see the current store in neighbouring Westwood Avenue close and all colleagues relocate to the brand new, bigger, more modern store.
Pinewood Avenue Central England Co-operative Store Manager Paul Baldwin said: “This is a very exciting time for everyone in the team and preparations for the big day are well under way.
“Please come and join us at 9am on Friday, 8 November, see us cut the ribbon and take a look around our brand new store.
“There will be a great buzz on opening day and to celebrate the food store launch we will have plenty of special opening offers, we will be talking to customers about membership and how we can support in the local community. We look forward to seeing you there.”
The pictures showcase how the inside of the new store is taking shape and is ready for thousands of products to be stacked onto the shelves ahead of the official opening, while special eco-friendly fridges and lighting have been installed to back up the retailer’s eco-friendly ethos.
As a special opening offer, shoppers will have the opportunity to grab a free Costa Coffee when they register an email address to celebrate the launch of the new store.
The Pinewood Avenue Co-operative food store will be open from 7am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.
The store will offer a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special.
This includes fresh and fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery offering breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, fresh and frozen product, Irresistible product ranges, Costa Coffee machine and a great selection of food to go.
The store will also include a free water refill station, as well as Lottery, Paypoint, Collect Plus, foreign currency, customer toilets, customer seating areas inside and outside the store, a lifesaving defibrillator, a free car park and a free cash machine.
