Join us in celebrating Co-operatives Fortnight

Co-operatives Fortnight runs from 20th June to 4th July and, as one of the founding sponsors, we will proudly be joining other societies up and down the land to support with various unifying incentives.

The first of these is the ‘Big Co-op Clean’ where thousands of co-op members, employees, customers and school pupils will take part in clean-up events across the country.   From School grounds, parks, beaches, community facilities, businesses... the clean-up operation knows no bounds.

Central England Co-operative will be taking part by organising three clean up events at Chaddesden, St Ives and Stirchley.  All the details of the events are below and we would love to see you come along and show your love for your local community.

We will also be supporting Co-operatives Fortnight with a number of foodbanks at our stores as part of the Foodbank awareness campaign on the 26th and 27th June.

Foodbanks provide vital emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK and 2013/2014 foodbanks gave three days emergency food to 913,138 people nationwide.

Rising costs of food and fuel combined with static income, high unemployment and changes to benefits are causing more and more people to come to foodbanks for assistance.  The foodbanks dates are detailed below, and any help you can give will be greatly recieved.
