Bread Rolls

Cooking Time: 10-15 plus rising time



Ingredients

  • 225g strong white bread flour
  • 450g strong wholemeal bread flour
  • 1 sachet dried yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 420ml tepid water

Method

  1. Put both flours into a big bowl, add the yeast and salt and stir together, then add the tepid water to the flour mix.
  2. Mix together, then use your hands to take the mixture out of the bowl and place onto a floured work surface.
  3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it is elastic and smooth, then put in a large, clean bowl and cover.
  4. Place the bowl in a warm spot in the house and leave the dough to rise for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 190˚C/fan 180˚C /Gas 5. Knead the dough again for a few minutes.
  6. Rub a little oil over 3 baking trays, then sprinkle with flour.
  7. Shape the dough into 12-15 rolls, put onto the trays, cover and leave until doubled in size.
  8. Remove cover, sprinkle with flour and bake for 10-15 minutes.
