Bread Rolls
Serves: 12
Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-15 plus rising time
Ingredients
- 225g strong white bread flour
- 450g strong wholemeal bread flour
- 1 sachet dried yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 420ml tepid water
Method
- Put both flours into a big bowl, add the yeast and salt and stir together, then add the tepid water to the flour mix.
- Mix together, then use your hands to take the mixture out of the bowl and place onto a floured work surface.
- Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it is elastic and smooth, then put in a large, clean bowl and cover.
- Place the bowl in a warm spot in the house and leave the dough to rise for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 190˚C/fan 180˚C /Gas 5. Knead the dough again for a few minutes.
- Rub a little oil over 3 baking trays, then sprinkle with flour.
- Shape the dough into 12-15 rolls, put onto the trays, cover and leave until doubled in size.
- Remove cover, sprinkle with flour and bake for 10-15 minutes.
