Central England Co-operative Travel is collecting donations of essential products this Christmas for the Mackworth and District Society of Dog Supporters.

The store in Alvaston will be collecting donations of pet food from now until 7 December, to help dogs while they are waiting to be placed in loving, long-term homes. Both customers and colleagues are donating to the charity. The travel brand is requesting tinned and dried dog food items for those animals in need this Christmas.

Lorraine Jeffries, Branch Manager at the Alvaston Travel Branch said: “We chose this charity as there are so many rescue dogs which need rehoming. The Mackworth and District Society of Dog Supporters has rehomed hundreds of dogs and needs support to continue its valuable work.”

The Santa’s Suitcase initiative has been a great success for the Society, and each Central England Co-operative Travel store chooses the charity that it collects for and donates to.

If you would like to help by donating any of the items needed, please do go into the Central England Co-operative Travel Branch at 1270 London Road, Alvaston, Derby DE24 8QP and speak to the team. The closing date for donations is 5pm on 7 December 2018.
