Central England Co-operative invests over £600,000 on revamping three Food Stores in Birmingham

Central England Co-operative has opened the doors to three new food stores in Birmingham with a trio of special ribbon cutting ceremonies.

A total of £625,000 was spent revamping stores in High Street, Erdington, Tame Road, Brandhall, and Kingstanding Road, Kingstanding, to provide members and customers with an improved shopping experience.

The transformation has seen the introduction of new fixtures and fittings including the latest in pioneering energy efficient refrigeration and LED lighting technologies to minimise environmental impact.

High Street Co-operative Store Manager John Mangan said: “Our team were so excited to finally allow our members and customers to see our new-look store. The revamp looks fantastic and already customers have been making many positive comments about how it looks.”

Jamie Joyce, Tam Road Co-operative Store Manager, said: “I would like to thank our members and customers for their patience during our refurbishment and I hope they enjoy the changes as much as we do.”

Kingstanding Road Co-operative Store Manager Caroline Jones said: “All of us here at Central England Co-operative are proud to be part of such a great community in Birmingham and are looking forward to welcoming customers, new and old, to come and enjoy our new food stores.”

A total of £220,000 was spent on the High Street revamp, £226,000 on Tame Road and £179,000 on Kingstanding Road.

The stores have a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special.

The offer includes: fresh and local fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery for breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, fresh and frozen product, and Irresistible product ranges.

The stores also offer Paypoint, Collect Plus, Lottery, a free cash machine and a free car park.

Customers heading into our High Street Co-operative can now also enjoy more from their shop by picking up some of the latest fashion at Dorothy Perkins and Bonmarché concessions instore.

The Tame Road store is open 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday, High Street is open 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, and Kingstanding Road 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday.
