Central England Co-operative Travel collects donations for the Food Bank in Santa’s Suitcase appeal

Central England Co-operative Travel is again collecting donations of essential products, as well as food for families in stretched circumstances this Christmas for the Food Bank.

The store which is located inside the St Ives Food Store at Burleigh Estate, Constable Road will be collecting donations from now until 17 December. Both customers and colleagues are donating to the charity to provide food for families that are finding the financial stretch too much to handle. The travel brand is requesting tinned and dried food items and toiletries for those in need this Christmas.

Carol Godfrey, Branch Manager at the St Ives Travel Branch said: “We chose this charity as through no fault of their own, people and families can experience difficult times and just need a helping hand. Not everyone has family or friends they can turn to for help, and no-one can begin to understand fully the daily struggle some people go through.”

The Santa’s Suitcase initiative has been a great success for the Society, and each Central England Co-operative Travel store chooses the charity that it collects for and donates to.

If you would like to help by donating any of the items needed, please do go into the Central England Co-operative Travel Branch at Burleigh Estate, Constable Road, St Ives PE27 3ER and speak to the team. The closing date for donations is 5pm on 17 December 2018.
