Central England Co-operative Travel collects donations for the Food Bank, in Christmas appeal
Central England Co-operative Travel is again collecting donations of food and essential products such as toiletries for families in stretched circumstances this Christmas, for the Food Bank.
The store in Scunthorpe will be collecting donations from now until the 19 December, to help families who are struggling this Christmas. Both customers and colleagues are donating to the charity to provide food for families that are finding the financial stretch too much to handle. The travel brand is requesting items such as tinned and dried food items and toiletries for those in need this Christmas.
Jodie Lewis, Branch Manager at the Scunthorpe Travel Branch said: “We chose this charity as through no fault of their own, people and families can experience difficult times and just need a helping hand. Not everyone has family or friends they can turn to for help, and no-one can begin to understand fully the daily struggle some people go through.”
The Santa’s Suitcase initiative has been a great success for the Society, and each Central England Co-operative Travel store chooses the charity that it collects for and donates to.
If you would like to help by donating any of the items needed, please go into the Central England Co-operative Travel Branch at Oldrids Department Store, 28-32 Southgate, Scunthorpe DN15 6SU and speak to the team. The closing date for donations is 5pm on 19 December 2018.
