Raunds Co-operative food store pulled off a spectacular community fun day on Saturday 5th November and raised £254.90 for charity.

The fun-filled event was visited by hundreds of residents and the community enjoyed taking part in activities, competitions and tried some delicious food!

Becci Lovell, Customer Team Leader, commented: “As a store team we are extremely proud of our efforts to make the charity event a success. We are very pleased with the amount raised for Newlife and this was reflected throughout the day as there was a real buzz!

“Newlife is such a fantastic charity and I know the funds raised will make a real difference.”

Newlife Head of Community Fundraising Nora Smith said: “Our thanks go to the team at the Central England Co-operative food store in Raunds for their amazing fundraising efforts, which will help transform the life of a disabled child in the retailer’s trading area.”

Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children is dedicated to providing guidance and practical support for children with disabilities and their families, and although Newlife is a national charity, every penny raised by Central England Co-operative is helping children in the Society’s trading area. So far, the partnership has raised £1.2million and helped fund specialist disability equipment for more than 530 children.
