Central England Co-operative celebrated the opening of its new food store with a Golden Ticket Giveaway event on Saturday 29 October, after a £650k investment to enhance the shopping experience for its members and customers.

Dersingham Parish Council officially opened the food store and 50 lucky shoppers received a golden ticket – with one walking away with a brand new 40” television.

The opening of the Dersingham food store offers a wide range of products and services to meet the needs of local residents, with fixtures and fittings including the latest in pioneering new energy efficient refrigeration and LED lighting technologies to minimise environmental impact.

Rachel Ringwood regular shopper and Dersingham resident revealed that she was amazed when her eight year old son, Toby, unwrapped their golden ticket to find out they had won a 40” TV.

Rachel commented: “I couldn’t believe it! I am really happy and had to call my husband straight away.

“We shop at the store every few days, the selection is great and I think the store is brilliant.

“Thanks Dersingham Co-op for making our Saturday morning even more magical!”

One lucky resident picked up a Kenwood smoothie maker and another won a Nescafé Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Other golden ticket winners shared a mix of Co-operative gift vouchers and Irresistible Fairtrade chocolate bars.

Sue Payne, Chairman of Dersingham Parish Council, commented: “It’s a nice store and I am very pleased a local family won the star gift of a 40” TV.
