Central England Co-operative is holding a competition this summer that will allow customers in Leicestershire to help choose a new flavour of Slush Puppie.

The Society is teaming up with the iced drinks firm as part of an effort to finalise a new flavour that will be on sale across the summer.

All people have to do is head to one of three stores taking part, sample the four new flavours and the one with the most votes will then go on sale.

The special tasting and voting events will be made that bit more special by an appearance from Slush Puppie himself, who will be on hand to meet visitors.

Jayne Walton, Central England Co-operative Oakham Store Manager, said: “We really need the help of our customers to help choose a new summer Slush Puppie Flavour.

“The special tasting event will allow people to try the four new flavours - fruit salad, blackcurrant burst, sour apple, strawberries and cream – vote for their favourite and even get to meet Slush Puppie for a photo.

“The votes will then be counted and customers will then be able to enjoy the winner in our stores from July 7.”

The tasting events will take place in the following locations:
•    11am to 4pm on Wednesday, 31 May at Oakham Food Store, in Braunston Road
•    11am to 4pm on Thursday, 1 June at Rugeley Food Store, in Queensway
•    11am to 4pm on Friday, 2 June at Ibstock Food Store, in Ashby Road
