A hardworking Central England Co-operative Store Manager is celebrating after being rewarded for 20 years long-service.

Craig Symonds is Store Manager at Hatton Food Store and has been helping customers and members across the area for the past two decades.

The 37-year-old started out as a Customer Services Assistant working eight hours a week and worked his way up to the role of manager.

He said: “I love every part of my job at Central England Co-op and the last 20 years have gone by so quickly.
“What I love most about the job is that no two days are the same and that I get real job satisfaction out of doing a good job for my team and my customers.”

Craig, who lives in Leicester, has managed Hatton Food Store for the past seven years and before that had roles at stores in Shepshed, Castle Donington and Uttoxeter.

He added: “I have been a manager for the past seven years and worked all of those years at Hatton. I have a great team at the store and we all love being part of a great village community.

“I look forward to many more years serving the people of Hatton and working for Central England Co-op, but eventually I would like to progress to a role such as Operations Manager. However, at the moment, my focus is doing the best job I can at Hatton and bringing up my family.”

Away from work, Craig relaxes by watching football, enjoying television shows and going on days out.

James Martin, Operations Manager at Central England Co-op, said: “I was really proud to be able to congratulate Craig on his long-service.
“For the past seven years he has excelled in his role at Hatton Food Store and is genuinely loved by colleagues and customers.
“Craig is a great example of everything we stand for at Central England Co-operative and he should be proud of his efforts during the past 20 years.”

The Station Road Co-operative store is open 6am – 10pm Monday – Saturday and 10am – 4pm on a Sunday. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special. The store offer includes fresh and local fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery for breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, fresh and frozen product and Truly Irresistible product ranges.

The store also offers Paypoint, Collect Plus, Lottery, Bake and Bite, Costa Coffee, Rug Doctor, a free cash machine and a free car park.
