Three local travel branches in Lincolnshire have launched their annual Christmas toys appeal to spread some festive cheer to those in need in the area is asking customers and the local community to support the campaign.

The Co-operative Travel in Bourne, Market Deeping and Spalding are collecting good quality toys, books, games and puzzles for Amazon Children’s Ward, Peterborough City Hospital. The toys will be distributed to children in need in the local area.

Market Deeping Travel Branch Manager, Sarah Mantel, explains: “Christmas is a time of celebration for most of us and we’d like to help make it special for local children who are going through a difficult time.  We’re asking our customers and friends to help us fill Santa’s suitcase with gift items for children at Amazon Children’s Ward, Peterborough City Hospital.

“It’s the sixth year that Central England Co-operative has organised this activity and we are hoping to put smiles on even more children’s faces this year.”

If you would like to donate a gift to a local child simply take it to:

• Central England Co-operative Bourne Travel Branch, Abbey Road by 5pm on Saturday 17 December.

• Central England Co-operative Market Deeping Travel Branch, 7 The Precinct by 5pm on Saturday 17 December 2016.

• Central England Co-operative Spalding Travel Branch in Beales Department Store by 5pm on Saturday 17 December 2016.

The appeal needs items for all age ranges – unfortunately, for health and safety reasons, they cannot accept second-hand or cuddly toys.
