A student from Nottingham was handed the ‘best birthday ever’ after coming out on top in a special online game from Central England Co-operative and winning £2,500 worth of technology.

Lauren Henson, who lives in Bilborough, revealed she ‘still could not believe’ she had won the bundle of gadgets and admitted she was left over the moon after finding out as she celebrated her 26th birthday.

The student walked away with everything from a Panasonic 49’ 4K TV to a Samsung Soundbar and Wireless Sub after taking part in a specially designed online game called Scrambled Eggs, which was aimed at keeping boredom at bay during Easter by testing the memory skills of online gamers.

All participants had to do was match a series of cards featuring images such as rabbits, hot cross buns and, of course, Easter eggs in a time limit.

Lauren came out on top with a score of over 3,000, with the game being played over 19,000 times in total as people tried to win the bundle of prizes.

She said: “I am honestly so appreciative and thankful for winning such an incredible bundle of prizes.

“I truly feel so blessed, humbled and lucky – especially as it came at the same time as I celebrated turning 26.

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everybody at Central England Co-operative for allowing me to have these brilliant items. I am thrilled.”

The full technology bundle included:
• PS4 Slim
• Panasonic 49’ 4K TV
• iPad Air 2 128GB
• Samsung Soundbar & Wireless Sub
• Samsung R7 Iconic 360 Wireless Speaker
• Sony MDR Bluetooth Headphones

Runners up prizes included £100 and £50 Co-op vouchers and a Cadbury hamper.

Nathan Lloyd, Web Content Architect at Central England Co-operative, said: “The game was vibrant, lots of fun and a great way to spend a few minutes in-between eating Easter eggs and buttering hot cross buns.

“We would like to say thank you to everyone who played the game and congratulations to Lauren for coming out on top and winning our technology bundle.”
