Huntingfield, Heveningham & Ubbeston Village Hall, also known as ‘The Hub’, is delighted after receiving a donation from Central England Co-operative.

A successful Membership and Community Council grant yielded a cheque for the group to purchase an ultra-modern PC, which will be used to support the local community. The cheque was presented to Sue Lucas, Chair of Trustees for The Hub, by Bradley Tuckfield, Membership and Community Council (MCC) Ambassador at Central England Co-operative.

The Hub is a brand new village hall, which was completed in March 2016 and serves the three villages of Huntingfield, Heveningham and Ubbeston.

Sue Lucas, Chair of Trustees at The Hub in Huntingfield, said: "We would like to thank Central England Co-operative for this kind donation. It means so much when local companies support the community.

“The opportunities are far-reaching for the community by having an up-to-the minute PC at The Hub.

“We are offering computer skills sessions on a one-to-one basis to anyone, but with special focus on older people who may not be as confident as younger members of the community.

“As we live in a rurally isolated community, the opportunity to shop online for those without their own computer will be a huge asset especially as they will be helped to do this by Helen, our expert."

Bradley Tuckfield, MCC Ambassador, said: “I am delighted to be presenting this grant to such a worthwhile cause.

“It is really important to have strong links with the local community and I am proud the Eastern Membership and Community Council were able to support the village hall and local residents.

“I look forward to hearing how the locals get on with the new PC and working more closely with the village hall in the future.”
