South Derbyshire MP cuts the ribbon at the opening of revamped Funeral Home in Swadlincote

Dozens of special guests were on hand to mark the relaunch of a funeral home in Swadlincote
Staff at Central England Co-operative’s Ward and Brewin Funeral Home hosted a special dedication ceremony at the site in West Street.
Funeral director Samantha Platt and her team were joined by South Derbyshire MP Heather Wheeler, local clergy, and members of the public to mark the occasion.
The event featured a service marking the opening of the revamped home followed by a guided tour of the premises for all attendees and refreshments.
Samantha said: "Our first priority is to enhance memories and love for all of our families and we are very pleased to offer that at Ward and Brewin Funeral Home.
“We feel it reflects our commitment to providing excellent standards of care for our families during their time of bereavement.
"We would like to thank MP Heather Wheeler and local clergy for leading the dedication service and coming along to officially open the site. We all appreciate the time they have put aside out of their busy schedules to help us mark this occasion.
“Our guests had a tour of the funeral home and saw the range of options we offer which allow families to arrange a funeral reflecting the life and interests of their loved one.”
A total of £76,000 was spent on upgrading the home.
Mrs Wheeler said: “I was delighted to assist with the official opening of the newly refurbished Ward and Brewin.
“Dealing with losing a loved one is one of the hardest things a family ever have to do. I am really pleased that Ward & Brewin, with Central England Co-operative, have
invested so much in this newly refurbished and rededicated home in Swadlincote.
“The kindness and professionalism of the staff make this whole sad process so much more bearable and I congratulate them all on looking after the people of South Derbyshire so well.”
