Central England Co-operative has joined up with the Ashbourne Fairtrade Group to host a special quiz night for charity.

The retailer, which has recently opened a new Food Store in Blenheim Road, is putting on the event from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday, 14 November at the Ashbourne Lodge Care Home, in Derby Road.

The event will also include Fairtrade wine, cheese and chocolate tasting.
Entry costs £2 per person and tickets are available from the new store and the store, in Dig Street. All proceeds will go to Dementia UK and the Fairtrade Group.

Tanya Noon, Member and Community Relations Officer, said: “We are so proud to have opened a new store in Ashbourne and, along with our other store in Dig Street, love being part of this community.

“This is why we are putting on this great event, to allow people to have some fun and raise some money for charity at the same time.”

The Blenheim Road Co-operative food store is open from 7am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.

The store offers a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special.

This includes fresh and fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery offering breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, fresh and frozen product, Irresistible product ranges, and a great selection of food to go.

It also offers Paypoint, Collect Plus, foreign currency, a free car park and a free cash machine.
