Central England Co-operative Funeralcare has used its community links to help a local good cause in Yaxley.

Barbara Claypole, an arranger at MJ Claypole Funeral Directors, based in Main Street, organised a special garden party to help raise funds for the Yaxley Scout and Guides.

The event was held at the funeral home and helped raise £500.

The day involved a display of vintage vehicles, live music, tombolas and refreshments.

Niki Roberts, Senior Funeral Director, said: “MJ Claypole Funeral Directors is very much at the heart of the community of Yaxley.

“We were delighted to hold an event in the beautiful thatched cottage and huge garden to support the scouts and guides.

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and helped raise £500.”

A similar event last year saw £650 raised to help repair the Yaxley Scout and Guides after it burnt down following an arson attack.
